Adopt A Family Update: A huge thank you goes out to our Adopt A Family program donors!

As of Dec. 5, and with the help of this Detroit Free Press article, everyone has been adopted.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are going to have a big impact on the holidays of nearly 500 families.

Community Housing Network Adopt A Family program:

Imagine you were homeless just a short time ago. You're happy to now have a roof over your head, but it's the holidays, and because you're still getting back on your feet you do not have the resources to buy your kids anything for the holidays.

Or imagine that you're an older man who had lived on the streets for years. You're thankful to have a small apartment now that you call home, but you do not have enough money for a winter coat. And you have no family and no holiday gatherings to look forward to.

That's the situation many of our program participants find themselves in, and that's why we started Adopt A Family in 2004. That year the program provided gifts and basic necessities to 40 formerly homeless individuals and families. This year, our goal is to help 500 individuals and families.

Here's where you come in: Will you help us make the holidays happier for those who were formerly homeless? Consider Adopting A Family for the holidays!
