Current Projects

Community Housing Network is constantly looking for ways to expand affordable housing opportunities for the homeless and people with disabilities. We have currently embarked on a new 811 project and are in the process of identifying other properties suitable for future development.

811 Project

Community Housing Network has recently received funds from HUD to implement a new 811 Scattered Site Housing Project. The funds will be used for acquisition and rehabilitation of eight (8) units of housing at four (4) separate locations. The four properties are condominiums located in two different suburban communities in Oakland County, Southfield and Farmington Hills. All of the properties are occupied by people with developmental disabilities or chronic mental illness with very low incomes. These people will remain in their current residence. Future vacancies will be open to any qualified person with a disability.

CHN intends to make these houses permanently available and more affordable, and to attract additional federal resources to Oakland County for use by people with disabilities. Our goal is to leverage program funds and federal dollars to the maximum extent possible while increasing the affordable supported housing stock, building nonprofit capacity, attracting additional federal resources to the community and ensuring the future availability of desirable housing for people with disabilities.
