Representative Aldo Vagnozzi and Senator Gilda Jacobs
to Join Efforts of Community Housing Network

Rochester Hills Home to Get Curb Appeal

Troy, MI - Instead of pounding out bills in the Michigan Legislature, Representative Aldo Vagnozzi and Senator Gilda Jacobs along with several other legislators will pick up the garden tools on August 19, 2008 to help Community Housing Network landscape the yard of a HUD Section 811 affordable housing development in Rochester Hills.

"Legislative Build 2008 is an opportunity for legislators to see what is going on in the area of affordable housing and community improvement right in the districts they serve," says Marc Craig, President and CEO at Community Housing Network, Inc.

On August 19, 2008 Representative Aldo Vagnozzi, Senator Gilda Jacobs and other legislators will remove rocks, pull weeds and replace overgrown shrubs with new ones at the home of four individuals with disabilities.

As part of Legislative Build 2008, nearly 90 percent of the Michigan Legislature signed to work on an affordable housing or community development project in or near their district sometime this summer.

Thousands of profit and non-profit organizations have joined together in supporting the 2008 Legislative Build project. This project is intended to expose legislators to the work of community-based organizations as well as showcase local efforts of community development. Legislators are being asked to devote a minimum of four hours to a project in their respective districts.
