Welcome to the Housing Resource Center!
Community Housing Network's Housing Resource Center is a
one-stop-shop to help people with their housing needs. Our roommate database, housing planning library, and programs such as Getting My Own Address (see Housing & Transition Planning at left) have helped thousands of people reach their goals to achieve long-term, successful housing.
The Housing Resource Center will direct you to resources at Community Housing Network and other organizations. We collaborate closely with our community partners to provide the highest level of service possible to those who need it most.
The Housing Resource Center is the designated HARA (Housing Assessment
and Resource Agency) for Oakland County through the Continuum of Care and
MSHDA. As the HARA, the Housing Resource Center screens those in a housing
crisis for a variety of programs, addressing both short-term and long-term
housing stability. This may include short-term financial assistance and housing
case management for rapid rehousing and prevention, certification for special
needs supportive housing units, or assistance filling out a homeless preference
housing choice voucher application. Eligibility for each program differs, based
on funding requirements. Staff housing specialists complete a full-intake
screening for all callers, to best determine what programs a household may be
eligible for, and makes appropriate referrals as applicable.
