The "Getting My Own Address" Project was made possible by a grant through the Michigan Department of Community Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Administration, and the Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority. We especially thank the Authority for their encouragement and support of this project. We also offer our appreciation to the many persons that contributed their personal and professional experience. They each helped make our ideas for the Guide come alive and take form.

The strong spirit of this project came from the consumers we were fortunate enough to have onboard. Their enthusiasm, energy, and creative ideas gave us the momentum to push forward under rather tight time constraints.

Creating this Guide was also a work of respect, regard, and dedication to the many adults living with mental illness who quietly show strength and courage each day, as they move forward on their journey of recovery.
