Transportation is provided by the Macomb County Community Service Agency (MCCSA). Please read the instructions carefully before calling to schedule transportation:

REQUESTING TRANSPORTATION

  • Make sure that you give your name, address, phone number (or a phone number where the rider can be reached).
  • The name of the apartment complex or mobile home park and apartment or lot number.
  • Report any special accommodations, such as if a hydraulic wheelchair lift is needed.
  • The name of the person who will help the rider board and depart the vehicle if assistance is necessary. MCCSA should also have a contact number for the person assisting the rider.
  • The name, address, phone number of the rider's doctor and other person(s) who will assist in case of an emergency.
  • The rider's age.
  • Date and time of the rider's appointment.

IF YOU ARE A NEW RIDER:

  • The rider should always be ready to depart upon arrival of the transportation vehicle. Do not make the driver wait!
  • 24 hours advanced notice is required to cancel a ride.
  • The day before a scheduled ride, the Transportation Program will call to confirm an estimated time of arrival and the number of people being transported. Make sure you access the message for all updated information.
  • Requests for transportation must be made during office hours, between 8:30a and 5:00p.
  • Transportation operates between the hours of 6:00a and 4:30p. Riders must depart for their final destination by 3:00p.
  • Riders should notify the Transportation Office if they have arranged for transportation home from a destination.
  • Requests for rides must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance of the needed services; requests can be made up to 3 months in advance.
  • Drivers are required to stay in Macomb County.
