Housing Training Program
The Macomb County Housing Training Program will assist persons with disabilities, their families and support persons, and persons who are homeless with an opportunity to learn about affordable housing in Macomb County and available local services to meet their needs. As part of the training program, a new CHN Macomb Housing Resource Center (MHRC) has been opened. The MHRC is open to both professional human service personnel and consumers.
Workshops about how to find and maintain housing are offered such as: Landlord/Tenet Relationships, Section 8, Person Centered Planning (PCP), How to Create a Housing Goal, Leaving Residential for Independent Living, and more!
Additional services available at the MHRC include:
- A centralized Available Housing Database
- Technical assistance
- Section 8
- Landlord outreach/Support
- A library full of resources for children and adults with mental illness,
- A manual for finding Macomb County Resources on the Web; Searching the Web.
