Help Someone Create A Home To Live In
Troy, MI– Help Community Housing Network Spring Into Action to End Homelessness,a week of activities beginning on Saturday, May 3rd when we will “kick off’ the week with an annual walk to raise money to help us continue to build affordable housing and give every person a home. The walk is scheduled on Saturday, May 3. 2008. 10:00 AM at James C. Nelson Park in Sterling Heights on 15 Mile Rd. between Dequindre and Ryan. It is a paved trail approximately one mile in Length. Walk a mile “more or less…distance is optional. Registration is $10 and begins at 9:30 AM. Children under 10 are free. Parking is free. Donations for cleaning supplies and toiletries are now being accepted for distribution to formerly homeless individuals and families during Spring Into Action Week. Items such as toilet paper, garbage bags, laundry soap and personal hygiene items cannot be bought with food stamps. Volunteer your time, talent and energy to help with outdoor spring clean up at the homes of the people we have helped to house. Donate 1 hour or 4 hours at one or more of the various locations in Oakland County.
The dates and times are as follows: Tuesday, May 6, 4-8 PM; Thursday, May 8, 4-6 PM; and Saturday, May 10, 9 AM-1 PM. On Friday, May 9th we want to say thank you and will be hosting a volunteer appreciation luncheon from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Community Housing Network, 231 Kirts Blvd., Suite 231, Troy, MI 48084.
