HUD Section 811 Program

Section 811 is a HUD program that gives nonprofit organizations the ability to create housing for people with disabilities. Section 811 housing units are for people who have a qualifying disability and are at 50% or less of the median area income, also known as the very low income limit. Rental units include a subsidy and the amount that the tenant pays is based on their adjusted gross income.  According to HUD, each project must have a supportive service plan.

Community Housing Network manages a number of Section 811 units throughout Oakland, Macomb and St. Clair Counties.  These are residential homes and condos with shared common areas (such as living rooms and kitchens).  Please contact Karla Chambers at 248-269-1321 for more information regarding rental availability.
